My name is Taylor Fitzgerald and I am a 29 year old Makeup Artist from Queens, NY. From an early age, I've had a passion for art. I grew up drawing in black and white with the hopes of making my own coloring books and doing children's illustrations. Later on at 16, I learned I had a love for makeup when I started to wear it myself. With the combination of art and makeup, I went to Make Up Designory in SoHo, NY for Special FX. The process of creation and vision behind the final product has always intrigued me. I utilize that same passion in the beauty world to create seamless work with intention behind each look.
I am inspired not only by Makeup Artists as famous as Kevyn Aucoin, but the ones I have assisted early-on in agencies, such as Deanna Hagan. She taught me a look doesn't need to be so overthought or have 10 steps. She also inspired my love behind skin prep being as important as the makeup applied on top of it. I am also creatively inspired by Disney animators, who had live models dance and use their own expression to make sure every detail of their hand-drawn work was accurate.
I love the balance of being a Makeup Artist. There are both ends of the spectrum of having complete freedom, to be trusted with someone else's vision to execute. We are forever learning and kept on our toes.
